The current site is a 6.10 acre lot with an existing single family home on the corner of Northwest Drive and Sterling Drive. The projected project will be 4 story wood frame (type V structure) over 1 story of concrete (Type I structure) parking garage. The design goal is to create a housing complex that captivates the surrounding culture and beauty of the neighborhood.
The Meridian Neighborhood of Bellingham is primarily a regional retail area for the city with close proximity to the airport and Interstate 5. The Neighborhoods focus is to keep the culture of Bellingham intact with the preservation of the natural topography, and bike and pedestrian friendly access and amenities.
A large area of the existing site will be preserved, Molly Maguire Landscape Architecture have assisted in designing 1.7 acres of natural landscaping with an enhanced water feature along Northwest Avenue. The South and East areas of the property will be set back for extensive landscaping to further encompass the culture of the Pacific Northwest.
Apartment amenities include roof garden, roof deck with barbecuing area, parking garage, recreational space, and leasing office.
