Richmond Beach Bluff House

Richmond Beach Bluff House, Bellevue, WA

The existing home was 40 years old, dark, and dated, but had great sweeping view of the sound. Stretched across the edge of a bluff, the remodeled home captures multiple views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. The design created "sun zones" - from a glassed-in easterly facing breakfast room to huge skylights near the bedrooms. A music area, art-display spaces, and an indoor greenhouse were incorporated in the planning to accommodate the clients' piano, a large art collection, and a workshop for a collection of bonsai. Thinking toward the future, the home was designed to be handicap accessible.
